I've been lazy with everything this past weekend BUT it was a holiday weekend AND our wedding anniversary so it's all good. We pretty much stayed in town, went to church and hung out with the kids. Overall it was a pretty good weekend and I really didn't want it to end. I am looking forward to winter though, love to be able to have the windows open and not be so hot out all the time.
So after my check up I was told to go on Imodium to decrease the frequency but with having the J-pouch I tend to be a lot more gassy and stuff, I saw that Imodium now makes a pill that helps with Multi Symptoms (gas, bloating, diarrhea and pressure). I started taking it today and I have noticed a difference in the way I feel. When you're gassy with a J-pouch, it's not really fun and in fact it's quite painful at times. For me the pain can be so bad that I actually have to stop what I'm doing until it passes. Things have gotten easier though. I use a cream on my bottom now called Critic-Aid which is a souped up diaper ointment. Basically when you lose you're large intestine when you poop it is now more acidic which can and will irritate your skin. I was told anything with zinc would work so I was using Burt's Bees Diaper Ointment until I could get the other stuff and they both worked ok but I notice that now I don't have to use as much cream anymore but I still have to reapply after I go.
We spent a good amount of time at Costco looking at things and we ended getting B a set of books that he's working on at school and also a huge 1st grade work book too.
One thing (among many) I have to work on is staying hydrated. After the mishap and not being able to drink for a few days due to nausea that I still find it hard to drink enough. I know that I won't feel like that anymore but once you get that stigma in your head then it's all over. It's now been three weeks since the last surgery and I'm great in some ways and ok in others. The Man told me that if I want to run in the Midnight Madness thing that I have to do another run before hand. I'm not able to really do lifting or exercises yet but I was told in three more weeks I can. I'm not to overdo it but at least it's a start and I can do yoga again. At least I can take baths and I try to take them as often as I can which are nice treats for me.
Our anniversary was nice because we just did Gordon Biersch, Target and Barnes and Noble. Nothing to crazy or expensive. So now were are done with things like that until October and that month is constant birthdays including his. Well I have to grab B from school but I will give more thought into my post for tomorrow.
